DANCE MAKERS Joins CRAFT Agency with Hopes to "Save and Strengthen Youth" Worldwide

DANCE MAKERS to Reshape The World of Competitive Dance.

New York, NY, February 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- DANCE MAKERS is not your typical children’s competitive dance studio. Aside from traveling the country with their competitive dance troupe, offering beginner, pre-professional and competitive dance classes to the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, DANCE MAKERS is also a non-profit organization for at-risk youth and low-income families where children dance, learn, are loved and even fed. Founder Robin Pitts has turned DANCE MAKERS into a second home for many of her students, who range in age from just 3 years old to 18 years old.

Offering a myriad of professional dance classes including tap, lyrical, ballet, jazz and more, Ms. Pitts has taken her love for dance and teaching to new levels by partnering with two local schools to offer children in the community she serves before and after-school classes from certified instructors committed to quality dance, education and professionalism. The "One Step Forward Before and After School Program" includes incorporation of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) based programs, as well as meals and snacks provided for students attending, all at no cost to students or their parents. Ms. Pitts says, “Dance is an outlet. It is therapy. It is a way for many of these children to communicate their joys, pain, fear and love without words. It gives many the opportunity to feel without pain, and love without rejection. Dance is a vessel to create and to be great!”

Another aspect that sets DANCE MAKERS apart is the cultural representation it amasses in their student community: From Sierra Leone to the Dominican Republic, Chile to El Salvador, Mexico to Peru, this organization personifies culture. Bringing children together in the name of dance promotes creativity and diversity, uplifts and motivates, and creates lifetime friendships that shape the lives of these children in innumerable ways.

Ms. Pitts is dedicated to her mission to save and strengthen youth by promoting their mental and physical wellbeing. She opens the DANCE MAKERS doors every day at 6:30am, and for twelve hours each day, these children can come to a safe space to learn and have their creativity encouraged through education, dance and other performing arts. “I believe that in offering these classes, school programs, meals and opportunities to children in these neighborhoods, we are giving them the opportunity to be great. Every child has greatness in them, it’s about cultivating their creativity and allowing them to believe they are great too,” declares Ms. Pitts, who sees the star in each one of her students.

This year, look out for DANCE MAKERS coming to perform in NYC on their upcoming dance troupe press tour. Witness firsthand how a little belief can cultivate a multitude of greatness
