City of Ft. Pierce Launches API’s Web-Based Fiscal Transparency Portal

The City of Ft. Pierce implemented API’s cloud based Fiscal Transparency Platform in an effort to share financial data with citizens.
It is the responsibility of The City of Ft. Pierce to take action on the concerns of citizens and local business owners. The city also manages budgeting and decides how to allocate the funds. In addition, the city maintains water, sewer, waste management police, and road maintenance.
The City of Ft. Pierce chose API’s Fiscal Transparency Portal to comply with open government transparency initiatives. The web-based financial transparency portal is user-friendly and provides citizens and City staff a transparent view of how funds are invested in the delivery of outstanding services. The Fiscal Transparency tool may be launched by visiting The City of Fort Pierce Fiscal Transparency Portal. Johnna Morris, Finance Director, stated “I evaluated the top fiscal transparency software solution in the marketplace. After seeing API’s Fiscal Transparency Portal, we quickly moved to acquire it, as I believe it offers the most user-friendly solution for citizens and staff and presents Fort Pierce’s annual budget in an easy to use and understandable way.”
Users may now view financial and spending records by launching the City’s Financial Transparency Portal via the internet, giving citizens access to how the City spends its tax dollars. The Financial Transparency Portal offers current fiscal year comparisons on revenue and spending for all departments and actual information for the proceeding four fiscal years. Users may drill down to finite details by category or specific department or scale up to view the overall fiscal health of the City. Users can also download the data as an Excel spreadsheet.
API is a Sungard approved solutions provider of document management solutions; including mPower, OptiView, OptiSpool, AgendaMaker and more. OptiView integrates easily with any ERP software and provides end-to-end secure scanning and storage of all sensitive records. API’s Fiscal Transparency Portal key features include; an executive dashboard, revenue and expense views side-by-side as well as comparison of budget to actual for both expenditures and revenues.
