Student Essay Contest for Community College Students in US and Canada Deadline is February 1, 2008
Announcing the Community College Baccalaureate Association’s 2008 Community College Student Essay Contest with $1,000 to the student winner and $1,000 to the winning school's Student Gov’t Association. Deadline is February 1, 2008.
Ft. Myers, FL, December 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Community College Baccalaureate Association (CCBA) is pleased to announce that they are accepting essays for the 5th Annual Student Essay Contest, which awards a $1,000 scholarship prize to the community college student who writes the winning essay.
This year’s deadline for entries is February 1, 2008.
The Essay Topic for 2008 is “The Real Issues – Why Obtaining a Four Year Degree on My Community College Campus Is Important To Me.”
Any student currently enrolled in a community college is eligible and there is no limit to the number of students per school that may enter. The winning student’s college Student Government Association also receives a $1,000 award. All the essay contest rules and entry information are online at the Student Essay Contest link at www.accbd.org.
Entries must be postmarked by February 1, 2008 and mailed to Dr. Beth Hagan, Community College Baccalaureate Association, P.O. Box 60210, Ft. Myers, FL 33906 or emailed by midnight February 1st to BHagan7@aol.com.
Judging will take place in early February and the winner will be notified no later than February 10th.
The winning student also receives an all-expense paid trip to the CCBA Annual Conference where they will read their essay. The conference is scheduled for February 29 – March 2, 2008 and will be in Denver.
Students who have won in previous years and attended the conference have described this as being a valuable, life enriching event. For more information, go online to www.accbd.org.
