Westchase Charitable Foundation Hosts Its 6th Annual "Tampa Bay Woman of the Year" Fundraiser
Tampa Bay Woman of the Year raises much needed funds for children facing serious illness or a devastating family tragedy.
Tampa, FL, February 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Tampa Bay Woman of the Year (TBWOY) is the largest fundraiser for the Westchase Charitable Foundation (WCF), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to families with children battling a serious illness or that have been faced with a devastating family tragedy. The TBWOY takes place on March 5, 2016 from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. at the International Jet Center and is open to the public. It will feature a live performance by The Black Honkeys, delicious food donated by local restaurants, cocktails, live & silent auctions, exclusive VIP perks, and of course the crowning of the 2016 Tampa Bay Woman of the Year. 500 people are expected to attend.
Trey Corish, WCF Secretary and Event Chair, said “Last year’s event was a huge success. We grossed over $80,000! We hope to exceed that number by leaps and bounds this year. More and more families are reaching out to us for help with absolutely heart breaking stories. We need everyone’s support. Please, help us help them.” Supporters this year include Mercedes-Benz, Tampa Bay Lightning, Cool Breeze Beverages, ExecuJet, Absolute Mobile Solutions, Laser Locators, Corish & Company, Inc., YourMembership, Elevated Events, Catch 23, and Zen Bistro.
13 outstanding women have committed to compete for the title this year, up from only five who competed at the inaugural event. They will donate their time to assist with obtaining sponsors, collecting auction items, getting in-kind donations, and planning parties to raise funds for the Foundation. Whichever woman raises the most will be crowned the winner live at the event.
Since its inception, the WCF has provided over $300,000 in direct financial grants to families in the Tampa Bay area. The WCF is unique since most of its operating expenses are funded privately, so 100% of the net proceeds go directly to helping families most in need. No one with the organization is paid and all board members are volunteers. While the Foundation has its roots in Westchase, over 90% of the actual recipients reside outside of the Westchase area. “Through your generous support of the Westchase Charitable Foundation’s annual fundraiser, you will be making a difference in the lives of families right here is Tampa Bay,” says Sean O’Donnel, President, WCF.
