Dallas, TX, February 10, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Sammons Enterprises, Inc. announced it has acquired Sweetwater Ranches Conservancy, LLC and Pathfinder Land and Ranch Management with related assets from Pathfinder Renewable Wind Energy, LLC. The acquisition includes Sweetwater River Conservancy, LLC and its associated conservation banks.
Sweetwater Ranches Conservancy is the first conservation-related business for Sammons Enterprises. The company adds the Conservancy to a diverse portfolio of businesses including financial services, industrial equipment and real estate companies. “The purchase of Sweetwater Ranches allows Sammons to participate in preserving and protecting some of the country’s most pristine lands and wildlife,” said Heather Kreager, Sammons chief executive officer. President of Sweetwater Ranches Conservancy, Jeff Meyer said, “The existence of these banks gives developers a viable option for getting projects done, providing both an ecological and economic benefit to Wyoming.”
Credits purchased from conservation banks may be used to offset adverse impacts to the environment and species affected by development. This incentive-based approach to conservation offers an environmental benefit and provides a mechanism for private entities to conduct business in Wyoming without owning and operating conservancies. Sweetwater Ranches Conservancy supports the preservation of habitat and species through the Conservancy’s stream and riparian and greater sage-grouse conservation banks.
