Debyoo Announces Song Pages Launch, Offers Brand New Way for Artists and Labels to Market Music

New York startup Debyoo aims to salvage the music industry by fusing storytelling and social media to create powerful relationships between music pros and fans.

New York, NY, February 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The team at Debyoo has announced that they are now opening the beta waiting list for artists and labels to join its newest feature, Song Pages. This new concept will allow music pros to market individual songs as a brand, meanwhile giving fans deeper connections with songs and artists.

Debyoo’s core unit is the Story Page, a visual and efficient way for users to tell stories. Song Pages are Story Pages specially designed for the music industry and offer an opportunity for artists to promote their music more effectively.

A recently released video introduces Story Pages from Debyoo: https://vimeo.com/153125220.

According to Nielsen Music, overall music consumption grew 15.2 percent to 549.4 million track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums in 2015. While people are listening to more music, artists and music makers are making less for two reasons. According to MusicWatch’s Russ Crupnick, “About 50 million of the 120 million people using music audio and video streaming sites won’t pay to stream.” Debyoo’s team says the other reason is that digital deflation is linked to the transition from album economy (bundled tracks) to single song economy.

Aside from these issues, stakeholders in the music industry are still harnessing outdated contracts between record companies and artists based on the CD album model versus the digital model, as well as outdated marketing and sales strategies, thereby leaving artists with dwindling incomes. Debyoo aims to solve the outdated music industry business model with a game-changing framework.

During this new era, there is a need for a new mindset. Industry pros must accept that the traditional way fans support artists is over, and artists and music makers must begin to embrace alternative monetization opportunities. Debyoo has built Song Pages in harmony with the digital deflation and the way music is consumed today. Music, like a diamond, is a multi-faceted art form with many colorful facets to appreciate. Song Pages aims to empower artists to show all facets of a song and to connect fans to every single facet of that song. Song Page’s approach offers new opportunities for artists, labels, music industry stakeholders, and fans.

CEO and Founder of Debyoo, Yves Muntu, said, “On one hand, allowing artists to market a song as a brand provides them a point of differentiation by developing a personality and attaching values to that song. On the other hand, making it easy for artists to create compelling brand stories around themselves and their music offers multiple benefits. For instance, stories are memorable and newsworthy, stories humanize and build deeper connections, stories create evangelists, and stories leave us wanting more.”

“We believe that people still value artists, however, in a new way. With Song Pages, we allow artists to embrace new technologies that build on artist-fan relationships to lead the pack in this beautiful new environment full of alternative revenue sources,” added Muntu.

The waiting list to access the Song Pages beta test is now officially open. Artists and labels can now join for early access. Further information is available at https://www.debyoo.com/foreveryone/music.
