NexGen Adds Miami Point of Presence at Verizon’s Flagship Data Center
Point of Presence (POP) at Verizon’s massive facility at NAP of the Americas—a critical part of the global internet backbone—will bolster NexGen’s connectivity for the Southeastern US, Latin America and Caribbean
Miami, FL, February 14, 2016 --(PR.com)-- NexGen Networks, a leading global provider of ultra high-speed fiber-optic services with a distinctive customer service approach, today announced its establishment of a new Point of Presence in the Verizon Enterprise NAP of the Americas facility in Miami, Florida—a key hub in the global internet infrastructure. NexGen’s presence in this massive, fortified data center expands its global network and provides its clients with secure, reliable backbone connectivity in an impressive network ecosystem.
The NAP of the Americas data center is one of the Internet’s major nerve centers. It is an important stopover for a substantial section of global Internet traffic, with the vast majority of Central and South American data traffic flowing through the Verizon facility on its way to a final destination. The 750,000 square-foot building is highly secure and thoroughly resilient—it is located in one of the highest parts of Miami and can resist the force of a Category 5 hurricane thanks to the 7-inch thick steel-reinforced concrete panels making up its exterior.
“The NAP of the Americas offers exceptional security, reliability and interconnectivity, allowing a diverse array of businesses, governments, and consumers to transfer data efficiently and cost effectively,” says Bob Bratcher, Sr. Product Manager at Verizon. “We are pleased that NexGen has joined the more than 160 network service providers providing clients with direct connectivity to the Americas at the highest standard of service.”
“Our Point of Presence in the NAP of the Americas data center places our services directly at the internet gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean,” says Jeff Barth of NexGen Networks. “It affords us a new level of connectivity in the region as we improve and extend our global network and seek new opportunities in the various Latin American markets.”
