Zyrobotics Awarded Phase II Funding from the National Science Foundation
NSF SBIR grant aids in the research and expansion of inclusive technology company.
Atlanta, GA, February 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Zyrobotics, an award-winning educational technology company just announced that they have received Phase II funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. For years, SBIR and NSF have been supporting small enterprises and startups with business development and funding for research that exhibit scientific and intellectual merit and commercial potential.
With Bring Your Own Device initiatives and mobile gadgets revolutionizing the way children are taught in classrooms, Zyrobotics is using their research to give thousands of children with motor disabilities access to mobile devices. Their focus is to bring STEM education to children with special needs, to prove that every child can learn when curriculum is tailored to their unique skills. For Zyrobotics, Phase II will further the development of an accessible learning platform that engages children with and without special needs in the classroom environment.
Founder Dr. Howard says, “I believe that every engineer has a responsibility to make the world a better place because we do have that power to create new things, to help society,” and in many ways Zyrobotics' technology has the potential to leave an incredible impact on children who have developmental limitations.
With this grant, Zyrobotics plans to expand their current suite of accessible educational apps, enhance usability in the classroom environment for teachers, therapists, SLPs, parents and the students themselves, and refine their platform to provide children with disabilities access to STEM curriculum such that their needs are addressed within the mainstream educational system.
