Eco-Friendly Camp Stove Uses Free Fuel

CarTopCamper.com is giving away a clean burning camping stove that uses free fuel.

Irvine, CA, December 31, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Wary about carrying bottles of propane or liquid fuel every time you go camping? Never pack cooking fuel again with a Wood Gas stove that burns twigs, bark, grasses, pine cones, scrap wood, nutshells, and other biomass collected around a campsite. With heat output equivalent to an electric stove burner, a hand full of wood chips burns virtually smoke free for 55 minutes – enough to make coffee and breakfast for a family of 5. Cooking time may be extending by simply adding a few more twigs.

The WoodGas Camping Stove weighs about a pound and produces a clean, efficient blue flame with very little smoke. A small fan draws fresh air into the two stage combustion chamber, allowing for a cleaner, hotter and more efficient stove. Two rechargeable AA batteries or a solar cell power the fan at one of two speed settings for easy temperature control.

The stove is operated by starting a small fire in the burner bowl. A handful of biomass with fire starter gel will become established in about 2 minutes. Heat is controlled by adjusting the fan control. The stove functions at all altitudes and will boil a quart of water in about 4 minutes.

The efficient use of wood fuel is much more eco-friendly than fuels like kerosene and natural gas (LPG). LPG emits 15 times more CO2 (carbon dioxide) per kg than wood, and kerosene nearly 10 times as much. CO2 is the main source of global warming. And as long as wood burning is sustainable and doesn't cause deforestation, its CO2 emissions are neutral -- the CO2 released in the fire simply gets recycled back into more trees.

For a limited time, CarTopCamper.com is giving away a Wood Gas Camping Stove with the purchase of an eco-friendly roof top tent.
