Adaptive Computing Launches High Productivity Remote Visualization
Provo, UT, March 01, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Adaptive Computing, provider of award-winning workload and resource orchestration software, announces it has integrated Remote Visualization with Moab’s workload submission portal, Viewpoint, in order to improve ease-of-use and increase user productivity. Organizations invest heavily in expensive resources and high-skilled individuals to achieve their goals, only to find that many resources go underutilized and that people are often less productive than desired. By integrating remote visualization with Viewpoint, organizations avoid having to purchase high-end desktops for all their knowledge workers, instead sharing expensive resources over backend servers and improving productivity by avoiding the wait time of moving large data sets between users and enabling greater collaboration.
Without this solution, organizations have to invest in expensive applications and high end desktops for each individual user, some with GPUs that can cost thousands of dollars. These resources commonly go underutilized with as low as 5-20% utilization when used on a desktop. Further, as data gets passed from one user to another, or uploaded and downloaded from central servers, users commonly wait anywhere from 5-30 minutes per large data set. Over time, and multiplied by a large group of users, this can lead to tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost productivity. An integrated remote visualization experience helps organizations overcome these issues.
The above mentioned integration, available in the latest release of Adaptive Computing’s Moab HPC Suite 9, allows users to launch a remote visualization session via any common browser. Users simply submit a traditional workload request through the Viewpoint portal using a remote visualization template. A remote session is then automatically generated allowing them to interact with either an entire desktop or with a specific application. This provides the benefit of saving hardware expenses through resource sharing, as well as improves productivity of a distributed workforce.
Whether working from a remote office or from home, users gain an experience close to that of running the application locally. In fact, the integrated remote visualization capabilities are on average 7 times faster than competing VNC or EOD 8 based tools when bandwidth is low or there is high network latency. Users can interact with 2D or 3D applications with simple mouse clicks and experience the pixel-perfect color and rendering across multiple screens or from their mobile devices.
This highly secure remote visualization solution encrypts data and transmits it using SSL and then communicates with other components using SSH tunnels. It enables shared sessions for collaboration purposes and allows owners to control who has mouse and keyboard control and that no guests stay on the server after the owner disconnects.
“Adaptive Computing is transforming our customers’ experience so that technology is no longer a barrier and users are more empowered in their efforts to cure cancer, build safer vehicles, and better our overall environment,” says Marty Smuin, CEO of Adaptive Computing. “This latest innovation helps automate the experience in such a way that organizations can both reduce costs through sharing and improve productivity through faster application interaction and increased collaboration.”
Remote Visualization will be sold as an add-on to Viewpoint; this integration becomes available the first week in March of 2016. With industry-leading performance organizations gain an important competitive advantage as they take this innovative step.
