Illinois College to Play on New Synthetic Turf Baseball Field from UBU Sports in 2016
Jacksonville, IL, March 06, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Illinois College will debut its new synthetic turf baseball field from UBU Sports on March 16 when the Blueboys face Robert Morris University – Springfield in its home opener. In addition to the new synthetic turf infield at Joe Brooks Field, named for the beloved late coach who coached the Blueboys from 1947 to 1985, the stadium will also feature a resurfaced outfield and warning track and new dugouts among its upgrades.
“Magnificent facilities such as Joe Brooks Field will put Illinois College in the national spotlight for Division III athletics and show the rest of the country that we are THE destination for a remarkable athletic experience,” says Mike Snyder, Director of Athletics, Illinois College. “This synthetic turf field will not only provide a quality facility for the Blueboys to play on during the rainy season of March and April, it also will provide a place for high school teams to play when their fields are too wet.”
Illinois College installed the Intensity Series S4-R from UBU Sports. The S4-R features a rubber infill, which allows the ball to come off the turf at a truer speed and angle versus a mixed sand and rubber infill. The high-density synthetic turf system also features ISO Grid fiber spacing, which ensures consistent playability in all directions. The system also includes UBU Sports’ exclusive Armour Weave backing technology for proven dimensional stability as well as enhanced fiber retention and proven tear-grab strength.
