Healthy Food Takes Center Plate at First Indian Drive Thru
The demand for healthier food options and places that cater to all dietary requirements will fuel growth for Desi Burrito in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, NV, March 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Desi Burrito, the first drive-thru, serving fresh, flavorful, healthy and innovative Indian fast food, is opening its doors in Las Vegas on Wednesday, March 9th. Located at 670 E Flamingo, the restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 AM to 9 PM.
The brainchild of husband-wife duo Kris and Bindi Parikh, Desi Burrito will fill a gap in the restaurant industry.
“The fast food market is saturated with big fast-food chains, like McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Arby’s, etc., however none of them really fall into the category of fresh, healthy fast food, offering a full menu of delicious choices for people with unique dietary needs,” Kris said.
Having adopted a healthy eating lifestyle himself, Kris knew he had to come up with a concept like this. “There are not many choices available for healthy fast food. Some menus have limited options, but if you are a vegetarian like me, you’d be hard pressed for choice. It gets even more difficult for Vegans or those who are looking for gluten-free and organic choices. We aim to change all that with Desi Burrito.”
Desi Burrito is designed to give foodies and fast food customers what they want: restaurant-style, fast, fresh, flavorful, healthy, delicious, food with the added convenience of a drive-thru.
With its tag line, "Indian with a twist," Desi Burrito is the first of its kind in many ways.
As the website suggests, Desi Burrito has a clear purpose: to redefine fast-food by offering fast, fresh, flavorful, healthy, delicious, and innovative food, with the convenience and speed of a drive-thru. Furthermore, it serves a variety of menu options for those with special dietary requirements.
“There are no compromises here, be it in taste, variety, freshness, or value for money,” Kris said. “The biggest challenge for us was to strike the balance between quality and value for money, and I’m so happy we were able to achieve that.”
“We only serve all-natural and antibiotic free meats, with many organic options on our menu, and yet, you can get a full, healthy meal for under $8,” Kris added.
Kris worked tirelessly with his chef to craft popular Indian dishes with flavors from the sub-continent, wrapped in burrito.
“We basically turned Indian food around by transforming popular Indian curries and gravies into a light, saucy consistency, and then sealed these delicious flavors into a burrito,” Kris said. “The result was light, healthy, fresh, delicious Indian food with a twist.”
The menu features burritos and burrito bowls made from scratch with fresh ingredients, tailor made to the customers’ unique tastes and dietary preferences.
The menu also includes a full line of popular Indian street-foods, like Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Samosas, Vada Pav, and more.
There is a robust breakfast menu, featuring burritos loaded with masala scrambled eggs and tofu for vegans. On the breakfast menu, you will also find the Masala Omelet Muffin as well as healthy organic items like the Chia Oats Protein Bowl, loaded with superfoods to help you start the day on the right foot.
The menu is complemented with a full line of healthy probiotic Lassis (Indian yogurt-based drink) as well as coconut water, organic coffee, organic green tea, and the famous Masala Chai (spiced chai latte). There is also a full line of Coke products.
“Las Vegas now has a healthy fast-food restaurant for those on-the-go meals so people can get restaurant-style, fast, fresh, healthy, delicious, food with the convenience of a drive-through,” Kris said.
Desi Burrito will offer drive-through and walk-up windows in addition to delivery and take out services including a patio dining to accommodate up to 16 guests. Desi Burrito has partnered with Nirvana XP, a mobile-based application platform, to further elevate their customer experience through online ordering and feedback.
