Los Angeles, CA, March 12, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The nation's top-10 insurance companies offering Medicare Supplement insurance protection was shared today in a presentation by the head of the national Medigap insurance trade group.
"The number of Americans purchasing Medicare Supplement insurance is increasing as more people seek the added benefits provided by this protection," noted Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI). The national Medigap expert was addressing insurance professionals who market these products.
"One of the questions consumers often pose is which companies are the industry's largest," Slome shared. "There are many insurers offering Medigap today because often they do so on a local or statewide basis, but there are certainly 10 which comprise a significant share opf the market."
According to Slome, the 10 largest Medicare Supplement providers based on the most recent data are United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Mutual of Omaha Group, Aetna, Conseco (including Bankers Life), Cigna, New Era, Liberty National (United American), State Farm and Physicians Mutual.
"Medigap insurance is one product that can vary significantly in terms of cost based on where you live," Slome adds.
