Napoli Unplugged Guide to Naples Named Foreword Reviews' 2015 Indiefab Book of the Year Awards Finalist
The Napoli Unplugged Guide to Naples is on the shortlist for its third indie publishing award, a Foreword Reviews' 2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award for travel. A stunning new guide to the city of Naples, Italy, this beautifully illustrated book is the creation of four women with deep ties to this southern Italian city.
Green Cove Springs, FL, March 16, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Partenope Press is delighted to announce the Napoli Unplugged Guide to Naples has been named a 2015 Foreword Reviews INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award finalist.
Each year, Foreword Reviews shines a light on a select group of indie publishers, university presses, and self-published authors whose work stands out from the crowd. In the next three months, a panel of more than 100 volunteer librarians and booksellers will determine the winners in 63 categories based on their experience with readers and patrons.
“The 2015 INDIEFAB finalist selection process is as inspiring as it is rigorous,” said Victoria Sutherland, publisher of Foreword Reviews. “The strength of this list of finalists is further proof that small, independent publishers are taking their rightful place as the new driving force of the entire publishing industry.”
"We couldn’t be more pleased," said Bonnie Alberts of Partenope Press, "that our debut title, the Napoli Unplugged Guide to Naples, which has already garnered two other Independent Publishers’ awards is in the running for a third."
A beautifully written new guide to one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, the
Napoli Unplugged Guide to Naples shines a light on an under explored city, Naples, Italy. It was written by Bonnie Alberts, Barbara Zaragoza and Penny Ewles-Bergeron, who together spent more than 20 happy years living in Naples and who love to wax lyrical about their adoptive city. Designed by Erin Romano, their prose is embellished with over 140 images among which are Bonnie’s photography along with original urban sketches and plein-air paintings by artists who couldn’t resist the siren call of Parthenope.
"This book was a labor of love for the city we love and we couldn't be more proud of the results," said Bonnie. "Naples has had its share of bad press over the years but finally, that trend is shifting and tourism is on the rise. We are happy to be a part of that conversation."
Foreword Reviews will celebrate the winners during a program at the American Library Association Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida in June. They will also name the Editor’s Choice Prize 2015 for Fiction, Nonfiction and Foreword Reviews’ 2015 INDIEFAB Publisher of the Year Award during the presentation.
