Law Enforcement Use of Force: Today’s Challenges and Resolution Strategies
Colorado Springs, CO, March 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Justice Clearinghouse is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a free webinar on Law Enforcement’s Use of Force sponsored by Tribridge on March 23, 2016.
Today’s environment for law enforcement across the country come with extra challenges. With video cameras and recording devices in cell phones, personal dash cams, and more public places, the individuals who have committed to serve and protect us are being continually scrutinized on their discretionary use of force.
In 2017, the California Department of Justice will begin requiring that each law enforcement agency give the DOJ annual reports of incidents; involving the shooting of a civilian by a peace officer; involving the shooting of a peace officer by a civilian; in which the use of force by a peace officer against a civilian results in serious bodily injury or death, and; in which use of force by a civilian against a peace officer results in serious bodily injury or death.
Similar legislation will likely be proposed in other States in the years to come and it is important for us to be equipped to report on these requirements. During this webinar, attendees will hear about the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s adoption of technology that specifically meets these legislative mandates.
Individuals can register by visiting the Justice Clearinghouse website.
