NSC’s Business Administration Star Apprentice
Oswestry, United Kingdom, March 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- It is National Apprenticeship Week this week and to celebrate the achievements of their Apprentices, North Shropshire College (NSC) has chosen a Star Apprentice for each curriculum area the College has apprentices working in.
NSC’s Business Administration Star Apprentice is Bekki Fardoe; Bekki works on the reception of NSC’s Oswestry and Walford Campuses and assists other departments with administration work. Bekki commented on her role, saying, "Since I started my apprenticeship, I have had experience in various roles. I have worked on reception at the Oswestry and Walford campuses of NSC and helped other departments such as: Student Finance, Work-Based Learning and Schools Liaison. I have enjoyed the variation of my job role and being able to develop lots of new skills and build my confidence."
Bekki commented on the benefits of doing an apprenticeship, saying, "The main benefits of doing an apprenticeship are learning new skills and gaining a qualification alongside, it can lead to a permanent job and gives you the hands on experience that is essential these days when applying for other jobs. Doing my apprenticeship has encouraged me to do further training such as the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and completing a Level 1 Bookkeeping qualification."
Doing an apprenticeship may lead to taking on more responsibility and learning new skills, Bekki commented, "I have been given more responsibility in my job role as my apprenticeship has gone on, I have had to cover reception by myself due to staff absences.’ Bekki commented on why she chose to do an apprenticeship, saying ‘I decided to do and apprenticeship after deciding not to go to university; I felt it was the best way to get into a job as well as getting more qualifications."
