Everything's Coming Up Rosés at Murphy Distributors
Those who are rose aficionados know that these wines are not just for warm weather drinking.
New Haven, CT, March 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Murphy Distributors is proud to present its premier collection of Rosé wines - refreshing, delicious and enjoyed all year 'round.
Those who are rosé aficionados know that these wines are not just for warm weather drinking. Yet, this time of year is especially exciting because it marks that time on the calendar the new vintage of the year arrives. Super Fresh.
Pink wine flexibility has evolved given the popularity of lighter foods, especially vegetables and seafood. Most rosé wines emphasize vibrancy and clean citrus character. However, the best of these wines also have the depth and power to work with the most strongly seasoned, spicy foods, and those that might run over most white wines or be overwhelmed by the tannins of most reds.
Rosé refers to a wine made when red grapes are given slight skin contact to produce a blush, light copper, salmon or pink color. Rosés range from bone-dry to medium- sweet and are made in most major wine producing countries.
Here are Murphy Distributors' selected Rosé stars:
· Anne Delaroche, Cotes du Rhone Rose 2015
The vineyard is Mount Sainte Victoire (made famous by French artist Paul Cézanne) located in the Cotes de Provence region in France, 6 miles away, Eastbound, from the famous city of Aix-En-Provence located in the Rhone Valley. This wine possesses a very charming pale rosé color and displays an abundance of fresh strawberry and watermelon fruit aromas. The palate is focused and very well balanced with more strawberry and red fruit notes. The finish is quite pleasing and long with a little spiciness and freshness to it. Varietal is 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah.
·Domaine de Saint Ser 2015
Located in the Côtes de Provence of France, the Domaine de Saint Ser occupies an exceptional landscape high on the Sainte Victoire mountain. The vineyard benefits from extraordinary sunlight thanks to the southern exposure , and, in particular, the reverberation of the light off the white rocks of the mountainside which favors the production of quality grapes. The vineyard grows on a hillside.
Cuvee Prestige Rosé most commonly refers to a blend, either of more than one grape or of wine from specially selected barrels or vats. It is bright in color with complex flavors of grapefruit, white peach and mountain strawberry, nicely framed by minerals throughout the finish.
Varietal: Pinot Nero 80%, Chardonnay 20%
·Fabre Montmayou, Argentina Rose 2015
The Elixir Wine Group has been importing fine wines from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Baja California, Mexico for nearly two decades. Harvested by hand from estate vineyards with eight hour skin maceration for 80% of the wine and 20 day fermentation in stainless steel tanks, all wines are farmed using traditional methods without the use of herbicides and pesticides, and fermented with native yeasts.
We know rosé is at its best when consumed young - this is without question as fresh as wine gets. Pale rose color with citric aromas of pink grapefruit and lime, this masterpiece is crafted with European styling. It is a crisp, well-balanced and elegant rosé which is a perfect combination for grilled summer fare. Varietal 80% Syrah, 20% Grenache.
"We are very proud to be offering some of Connecticut's best selections of wine and spirits available," said Matthew Murphy, President of Murphy Distributors. "The growth and popularity of Rosé is exciting and is synonymous with our rapidly developing reputation to place exceptional wine and spirits throughout the Connecticut market," Murphy said.
