Beyond the Firmament Author Releases "A Natural History of Creation" Video
Chesapeake, VA, January 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Gordon J. Glover, author of Beyond the Firmament: Understanding Science and the Theology of Creation, has published a free online video entitled A Natural History of Creation. This nine-minute video combines artwork, text, and music to present an old-earth framework from creation through the redemptive work of Christ. The video is published at the Beyond the Firmament website at www.beyondthefirmament.com and is also available at YouTube and GodTube.
In developing A Natural History of Creation, Glover considered a number of foundational questions. How can Christians defend the Genesis creation account against what appears to be a near-universal scientific consensus on origins? Is the book of Genesis an encyclopedia of natural history, or is it a theological polemic against Ancient Near-Eastern paganism? Or could it serve both purposes? How should Christians today tell the story of creation? Should we ignore centuries of scientific progress and defend every last detail of the Genesis creation account despite mountains of evidence to the contrary? Or, can we take a page from the Holy Spirit’s playbook and use the modern scientific consensus as a polemic to make our theological points? Does the modern scientific consensus of natural history really change anything theologically?
A Natural History of Creation is the latest in a series of videos produced in conjunction with Glover’s new book Beyond the Firmament: Understanding Science and the Theology of Creation. Dr. Christopher M. Sharp, research astrophysicist and educator, praises the book and notes “it should pique some Christians, agnostics, and atheists into thinking about what they believe, or what they do not believe.”
Beyond the Firmament: Understanding Science and the Theology of Creation is the debut publication by Watertree Press.
