Islands Society Blog to Feature Expert Interviews
Island Voices provides senior policy makers and other leaders with a platform to share their perspectives on the most important policy issues impacting island communities around the world.
Washington, DC, March 19, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The Islands Society is pleased to announce the launch of a new blog, Island Voices, that features weekly interviews with senior policymakers on insular affairs.
According to Michael Edward Walsh, Founder of the Islands Society, “Island Voices is intended to provide senior policymakers and other leaders with a platform to share their perspectives on the most important policy issues impacting island communities around the world.”
Island Voices is also designed to provide a new mechanism through which women, minorities, and young leaders in island communities can showcase their talents as scholars and journalists.
“Through Island Voices, we will now be able to feature interviews conducted by staff, fellows and members regularly on the Islands Society web site,” adds Keiko Ono, Executive Director of Regional Societies the Islands Society. “These interviews promise to stimulate a more informed discourse on the relationship between insular affairs and global policy topics, including diversity, international law, international security, public diplomacy and environmental sustainability.”
With the introduction of Island Voices, the Islands Society now hosts two blogs on its website. While Island Voices will feature regular interviews with senior policymakers on policy issues impacting islanders, The Islander will continue to provide expert commentary and analysis on the most important policy issues for islanders around the world.

About the Islands Society
