Solar Innovations, Inc. Receives Patent for Marine and Stop Glazing System
Solar Innovations, Inc., a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial sliding, folding, and stacking glass walls, doors, and windows; glass structures; and skylights has received the patent for its hybrid marine and stop glazing system.
Pine Grove, PA, March 21, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Solar Innovations, Inc. receives patent for its hybrid marine and stop glazing system. The unprecedented design for the marine and stop glazing system combines vertical marine glazing with horizontal stop glazing in order to create a much narrower vertical frame than conventional stop glazed doors. The high-performance marine and stop glazing system by Solar Innovations, Inc. has achieved the narrowest four-sided glazed door on the market and is available for pivoting, stacking, swinging, and folding door units.
Traditional glass products are held in place by aluminum glazing stops located on all four sides of the glass. In the marine glazed system, the glass extends into the left and right framing members, eliminating the need for glass stops at the vertical frames. Solar Innovations, Inc. engineered a hybrid of these systems by integrating the two technologies into one system. “Our design maximizes views by reducing bulky framing members to minimize view interruptions and ultimately create a clearer view and better user experience,” said Greg Header, CEO of Solar Innovations, Inc.
A hybrid marine and stop unit is structurally glazed within the glazing pocket, which creates rigid corner joints where the vertical marine glazed and horizontal stop glazed framing members intersect. This exclusive design allows the marine and stop glazed unit to achieve narrower vertical framing members while maintaining a corner joint with sufficient structural integrity to support the panel.
