Legendary DJ Nabs Featured on The A List Magazine’s April Cover
The World-renowned DJ sat down with A List Magazine to talk his early DJ days in Durham NC , moving to Atlanta, the current state of hip-hop and his love for boxing.
Atlanta, GA, March 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- DJ Nabs has been integral to the growth of Atlanta as a musical heavyweight. Early in his career, he toured internationally with top recording artists like Michael Jackson and later in US with Da Brat & Mariah Carey. His illustrious career has made him a true pioneer in the Southern Hip Hop Movement.
The breadth of Nabs' career goes beyond the turntables. He has assisted artists and songwriters in building their careers thru his company In The Lab Productions, and expanded his knowledge of the business side of the industry as an Artist Development Manager and Music Publisher.
DJ Nabs continued to reinvent the title of the DJ with his Fox 5 Atlanta’s megamix commercial that combined his video mixing skills with the Network’s top shows. Currently, he is set to launch a forthcoming bio doc, American DJ Story which depicts Nabs’ professional and personal life, and the relevancy of the DJ art form as the music industry changes.
During the interview, he shared his unique perspective on the classic ‘what’s real hip-hop argument’. “Once you understand the foundation of hip-hop and realize it’s lyrics, beats, fun and dance -the age of the music don’t really matter,” said Nabs.
When he’s not deejaying, Nabs revealed that he’s often in the boxing ring. Nabs started training after agreeing to participate in a celebrity boxing tournament. As he trained he realized he was truly drawn to the sport for the principles that it taught that helped him outside of the ring, finding calmness in the midst of chaos and refocusing.
The A List Magazine and DJ Nabs will celebrate the release of the issue with an official brunch at Sweet Auburn Seafood on March 19th and sponsored by Boom 102.9. Classic hip hop artist Tracey Lee will co-host and Nabs will be on the ones and twos.
