Execulink Finalizes Fibre Connections in Melrose, Expands to Other Communities
Woodstock, Canada, March 23, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Today, Execulink Telecom is excited to announce that they are in the final stages of their Fibre to the Home project in Melrose. With hook-ups underway, the people of Melrose are now experiencing state-of-the-art High Speed Internet, Voice and Television services.
Last summer, the Government of Canada announced that Execulink would receive funding through its Connecting Canadians program to increase broadband Internet access for over 2,000 households in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre. Funding from the program will expand Fibre to the Home services to small communities across the municipality, beginning with Melrose, and will provide these communities with access to broadband at speeds of five megabits per second or more.
With Melrose in its final stages, Execulink is setting its sights forward to the town of Lobo, where they plan to begin final hookups in June of this year. They also hope to start construction in Poplar Hill and Coldstream in April, with service installations by the end of 2016. Finally, Denfield and Carlisle are two other communities on their radar, where they hope to begin construction in September, with customer hookups beginning in 2017.
Installing Fibre to the Home in these communities involves burying fibre lines underground, which means they are more reliable, as they are unaffected by inclement weather (a common complaint of Satellite dishes). Execulink has contracted Weber Contracting to deploy fibre infrastructure across each town.
“Melrose is just the beginning,” expressed Execulink CEO Ian Stevens. “We’re excited to bring our advanced technology to other communities in the area. To know that our Fibre services will greatly improve the day-to-day lives of these local communities—that’s something we take great pride in.”
At the conclusion of these projects, these small rural communities will have the ability to connect to one of the most advanced communications infrastructures and fastest speeds in Canada. Fibre optics will accommodate today’s demand for high speed connections as well as the advanced applications of tomorrow – whether voice, video or data.
