Traverse City, MI, January 05, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Manitou Boatworks & Engineering is a Marine Surveying and Consulting company based in Traverse City, Michigan. Starting the year with a new website, Manitou Boatworks is expanding to offer more services for the 2008 season. The company offers surveying and consulting services locally and worldwide. Manitou Boatworks is looking forward to opening a waterfront office and local boat storage facility in the spring.
Marc Nugent started Manitou Boatworks and Engineering in 2003. After starting out as a Naval Architect and Marine Engineering, he decided to switch gears towards the consulting side of the industry. He relocated back to Northern Michigan to work as a Marine Surveyor.
Manitou Boatworks & Engineering now specializes in Pre-Purchase and Damage Surveys. Pre-Purchase surveys are geared towards individuals who are purchasing a boat or yacht and would like to know its true condition and value. This is much like purchasing a property and having a inspection and appraisal performed.
Manitou Boatworks and Engineering works along with many insurance and financial companies when performing Damage Surveys. These reports explain the accident and damage suffered to the vessel. In most cases the surveyor's report is independent from the adjustor's assessment. It is common for an insurance company to hire Manitou Boatworks to act as an adjuster if needed.
While there are many boat purchases made each year, many do not know their is someone willing to help them with their new investment. Factoring in the purchase price, the overall experience can be overwhelming. It is important for a buyer to have a surveyor work with them.
