Automated E-Waste Shredding System Operational
Asset LifeCycle broadens its current collection services to create a complete Electronic Reclamation and Waste Processing Facility.
Topeka, KS, January 04, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Asset LifeCycle, LLC (ALC) is pleased to announce the completion of its greatly anticipated Automated Electronic Waste (E-waste) Destruction/Shredding System.
In the beginning of 2007, Asset LifeCycle, LLC received a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bureau of Waste Management to help finance the first and only Automated Processing Plant in the state of Kansas. In September of 2007 ALC, received its permit to operate an E-waste recycling and reclamation facility in the state of Kansas (First and only permitted mechanical e-waste recycling and reclamation facility in the State of Kansas…)
For 2008, Asset Lifecycle has expanded its operations to answer the demand, from the commercial and consumer sectors, for secure asset disposal. Their answer is ‘YES’. The expansion will allow ALC to perform the highest level of security – complete asset destruction.
Shredder
The automated system features a 200HP SSI Shredder, which has the capacity to shred up to 6 ton of material per hour. This system was designed to process electronic waste, shredding and separating the components (ferrous metal, copper, aluminum, other precious metals, and plastic. The addition of the shredding system will allow Asset LifeCycle to be the premier, full-service, electronic waste processor in the Midwest.
Process
Asset LifeCycle continues to be the regional leader in advanced recycling technologies. Originally formed as an asset disposal company catering to medium and large businesses, ALC has expanded its offerings to include compliant electronic disposal for anyone. ALC has a unique process that evaluates in-coming equipment, re-deploys working equipment, extracts parts that can be re-used and recycles remaining products and components. The processing line includes sophisticated shredders to grind equipment into pieces smaller than two inches. From there, a series of separators and magnets separate the component metals and plastics for recycling.

In 2007, ALC has helped customers recycle over 2 million pounds of material, which is 2 million pounds of material that is diverted from our landfills.
