Midwest Young Adult Cancer Conference Gilda’s Club Offers Free Public Conference for Those Impacted by a Cancer Diagnosis Before 40

On Saturday, April 2 from 9am to 4pm, Gilda’s Club Madison is hosting the Midwest Young Adult Cancer Conference to help individuals and families address the unique challenges of those diagnosed with cancer under the age of 40.

Middleton, WI, March 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Each day 190 people under 40, who are busy working, going to school, and building a family, are told they have cancer. Hearing those words can be difficult for anyone but those under 40 with a cancer diagnosis often face unique challenges.

On Saturday, April 2 from 9am to 4pm, Gilda’s Club Madison is hosting the Midwest Young Adult Cancer Conference to help individuals and families address those unique challenges.

Conference keynote speaker, Eric Charsky, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that was described as “the worst” his doctor had seen. With thousands of polyps and tumors, he was in tough shape. He bolstered his resilience and strength to take on his cancer as he had taken on many challenges in his life. Conference attendees will hear the inspirational story of Eric’s journey and learn how he uses what he has learned from his life experiences to benefit others with cancer.

More than ten workshops will be offered, covering healthy cooking, fertility, therapeutic arts, healing touch, late effects of therapy, and parenting with cancer, among others. Participants will have time to learn, connect, and find resources.

As one past participant said, “I wasn’t sure I wanted to be in a room of cancer survivors, but what I found were friends. And the resources were very helpful. I hope everyone can find this conference.”

Event registration is required, but there is no charge to attend. To register, you may visit www.GildasClubMadison.org/MYACC, or call 608-828-8880.
