Cornell Dubilier AFK_V Series is Now Available Through New Yorker Electronics
Durable New Capacitor Series is Well Suited for Military, Transportation and Robotics.
Northvale, NJ, March 31, 2016 --(PR.com)-- New Yorker Electronics is now distributing the new Cornell Dubilier Electronics, Inc. (CDE) AFK_V Capacitor Series. This new rugged SMT Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor series has up to a 60% lower impedance, is up to 50% smaller, and offers more than twice the life of general purpose models.
Surrounded by a molded plastic retaining wall and coated in a metal V-chip SMT case, it is able to withstand continuous vibrations of up to 30g of stress. The durability of the new AFK_V Series makes it well-suited for military and transportation applications, and is appropriate for use in robotics.
The AFK_V Series also offers:
Up to 5,000 hours life @ 105°C, at rated voltage
Capacitance values range from 10 μF to 6,800 μF
Voltage ratings of 6.3 Vdc to 100 Vdc
Leakage Current: 0.01 CV or 3 μA @ +20°C, after two minutes (whichever is greater)
Capacitance Tolerance: ± 20% @ 120 Hz and +20°C
Currently a stock item at CDE franchised distributor New Yorker Electronics, this capacitor is now fitted with new three mechanical enhancements to provide greater vibration resistance in comparison to the standard SMT package:
1. Support terminal added to suppress vibration of the molded support base to the PCB to reduce contact stress.
2. Support base extended to create a high retention wall structure to better support the capacitor body.
3. Larger diameter lead wire to eliminate internal lead breakage at critical stress points and reduce internal vibration of the capacitor winding.
With the SMT electrolytics able to withstand high vibration levels, engineers are given a greater tool in improving end-product durability. This is why CDE expects the new capacitors to see their greatest use with rough terrain vehicles, factory automation and other industrial automation applications.
