Indie Rapper Gains Major Record Label Backing to Host Televised Annual Spring Fest Concert
Fresh off the release of a Universal Music Group-distributed album release, Florida rapper and Bounce-Jacksonville cable reality TV show producer Dez Nado announced earlier today via his website (www.WhoIsDezNado.com) that his VIPSquad Entertainment label will be hosting DUVAL SpringFest 2016, north Florida’s biggest all-indie annual concert series in Jacksonville, FL.
Jacksonville, FL, April 04, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Florida rapper and Bounce-Jacksonville cable reality TV show producer Dez Nado announced earlier today via his website (www.WhoIsDezNado.com) that his VIPSquad Entertainment label will be hosting DUVAL SpringFest 2016, north Florida’s biggest all-indie annual concert series. The independent artist/producer, whose new Universal Music Group-distributed album “LaDolceVita” has been gaining major street and industry attention, stated that this year’s edition will be a combined promotional effort of several Jacksonville-based businesses, all of whom are connected to Dez Nado’s fast-rising, cable reality franchise and Bounce-Jax’s most watched new program, “Life & Grind.”
The concert will be held on Sunday, April 24 at 1904 Music Hall in downtown Jacksonville, a venue that has played host to several eclectic past acts including Nappy Roots, Randy & Mr. Lahey of The Trailer Park Boys, Norma Jean, Stitches, 8Ball & MJG, Slum Village, Gangsta Boo, New Found Glory, and more.
The artist/producer reflected on starting out “throwing Spring Fest as a party in college” with his classmates at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, which featured performers who were a part of a group which would later turn into VIPSquad Entertainment, an independent label that Dez now owns after incorporation in 2014.
“…last year the most watched news station in northeast Florida reached out to (VIPSquad Entertainment) and invited us on to talk about Spring Fest, and that let me know that we’re on to something major” he added.
Enjoying substantial critical acclaim for his latest album release, Dez Nado gave credit to his “Life & Grind” TV series for opening doors that may have never been opened with his music alone. The album, entitled “LaDolceVita” was released on March 18 by his label after gaining major distribution via a new label deal signed off the strength of his easily noticeable regional buzz built mostly from the success of his cable TV show. The album, available today on iTunes, Amazon, TIDAL, Spotify, and all other major online retailers, was released after Dez’s smash hit single “Futuristic” debuted via Global Major Distributor Digiwaxx, who certified as of March 2016 that over 12,000 units had been distributed worldwide.
Dez stated that he has been approved for 4 spin-off series in surrounding markets, several of which he is prospecting today during his current “Life & Grind USA” Spring/Summer 2016 tour with plans to pick “the best four markets who want it the baddest” while promoting his new album at the same time. The tour will hit over 15 cities for over 20 performances by Dez Nado, including Grand Hustle’s Exposure Showcase at Apache Café in Atlanta on April 14, Reggae On The Block Street Concert in Orlando on May 7, BET Awards BETX Music Matters Stage in Los Angeles in June, and the Fleet DJs Music Conference Showcase in Charlotte in July.
Sharing the spotlight, Dez held a voting contest on his Facebook fan page, opening the door for over 65 artists who entered their names to compete to make the top 20 list and perform at this year’s Spring Fest by earning a performance slot, which is easily one of the most sought after opportunities for exposure to local artists given the expansive reach and visibility of Spring Fest, the premier concert event in Dez's hometown of Jacksonville. Over 1,500 votes were cast and the lineup is slated to be announced live on an episode of “Life & Grind” before the event date.
