Adams Shows What It Means to be an Arrow All American
Carl Adams, Million Mile Driver, explains what it means to him to be a Professional Truck Driver with Arrow Trucking
Tulsa, OK, January 06, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Meeting Carl Adams, veteran company driver for Arrow Trucking, is like standing in the sunshine: warm, welcoming, and strong. With an ever-present smile and can-do attitude, Adams exemplifies Arrow Trucking’s All-Americans, the best of the industry’s best.
“It’s true that I’m a happy guy; I like to be positive. Being negative just gives you high blood pressure,” says Adams. “I must love what I do because I’ve won every award they make at about every level. Working for Arrow is a nice career.”
After 37 years on the road, almost half with Arrow Trucking, Adams knows a thing or two about what makes for a good career. “Out of Arrow’s hundreds of drivers and 1,600 trucks, they know my voice on the phone; my face in the hall. I know I’m important to Arrow,” he says. “That’s a good feeling. My dispatcher, Pat, is the best. Everyone of those folks up there know my kids. They’ve watched them grow up and they ask to see my pictures.”
Adams says life on the road has changed over the years – some for better, some not. “When I started in 1969, you’d go to the west coast on Route 66. It was prettier but slower,” he says. “Now, you got I-10, I-40 and others that are faster but there’s more traffic.”
When asked about the best reason for a fellow driver to join Arrow, Adams says it’s simple: Family. “The owners are the most humanitarian people you’ll ever meet. They’ll help you solve any problems you have and they really want you to be happy,” he says. “I’m living proof of that.”
For his million safe miles at Arrow, Adams was assigned a new 2006 truck built for him, and presented with a $5,000 check and leather Arrow jacket.
“You can’t ask for a better place to work than Arrow,” says Adams. “I’ve seen everything from Boot Hill to Little Big Horn; from Alaska to Mexico. It’s an adventure. This is the new wagon train.”
A Tulsa-based flatbed carrier, Arrow Trucking was founded in 1948, and provides over-the-road, regional, and specialized hauling services across the country.
