"Tablet II" Introduced – New Turret from enepath Means Trader Mobility Finally Becomes a Reality
New interface, docking station and connectivity options take the mobile desktop for Trader Voice to a new level - gives the Trader more both at the desk and away from the office.
Singapore, Singapore, April 05, 2016 --(PR.com)-- enepath today announced the launch of Tablet II, the latest update to its market-leading Trader Turret for both sell and buy side trading institutions.
“The first ‘Tablet’ based trading Turret was a major change in the market,” said Stephen Phillips, CEO, enepath. “For the first time, Traders could sensibly be fully mobile, take the Tablet with them and work effectively at any remote location, as if they were in the office. This not only gave each and every Trader options, but it also meant that , in the event of a business continuity issue, the whole Trading Floor could be picked up and moved in one, easy, step.
“We have long known that the man-machine interface always makes a massive difference and we have made sure that Tablet II delivers,” continued Phillips, “The screen resolution is enhanced, the unit is lighter and the connectivity options are greater, both in terms of VPN connectivity and a specific ‘docking’ station. The docking station gives the Tablet II a much more substantial feel at the desk, while fully retaining the mobile capability that has proven to be so important to users. Of course mobility does not come at the expense of security.
“Tablet II has three separate levels of security, including on-board Turret firmware and separate user and Turret logons, all on a Linux platform. In fact, when implemented as part of the enepath fully-distributed Adaptive Media Platform, it is more secure than the traditional centralized and federated solutions currently on offer in the market. We think Traders will increasingly demand the freedom it offers and system managers will want to deliver that freedom and security.”
enepath are expecting interest in the solution to come from three main areas
· As a replacement for the Traditional Fixed Turret, but using less desk space , less power and providing greater screen clarity with ease of use
· As an easy to implement BCP/DR option when added to the enepath Adaptive Media Platform (AMP), allowing users to quickly move desktop positions to other locations, log on and be working almost immediately
· As a mobile option for users, who see market advantage in being able to utilize top level Turret functionality wherever they are
The Turret is designed to be implemented over a corporate LAN or WAN, but can also be used over a secure VPN using a customer – controlled access capability.
