Hammerstock 2016 at Grayhaven Winery
On Saturday, May 21st from 11 am to 6 pm, the Central Virginia Blacksmith Guild and Grayhaven Winery will be hosting a festival featuring metalwork demonstrators, live music, wine tasting, food, and a raffle of handcrafted items. Gum Spring, VA, April 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- A Benefit for the Banton-Smith Center for Blacksmith and Metal Arts at Grayhaven Winery in Gum Spring, VA: On Saturday, May 21st, the Central Virginia Blacksmith Guild in conjunction with Grayhaven Winery will be hosting a festival dedicated to blacksmithing and wine tasting. The event will run from 11 am to 6 pm and will feature demonstrators, live music, arts and crafts vendors, wine tasting and food, and a raffle of handcrafted items. There will also be hands-on opportunities so those in attendance can get the full blacksmithing experience.
The featured demonstrator will be Theodore Banning, whose work focuses on historical themes performed with modern methods. He has displayed his work all over the country and been recognized by Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil and the Artist Blacksmith Association of North America for his work. Born in France, Theodore applies his degrees in Engineering, History and Art to create well engineered work with clean lines that will last multiple lifetimes. There will also be other demonstrators ranging from very traditional to very modern metalwork.
Music will be provided by:
· Brown Sabbath – What better way to celebrate a day of metalworking than the area’s premier Black Sabbath tribute band for the past 20 plus years
· Gemini Love (returning from last year’s event – up and coming cheerful indie rock)
· The Wilkinson Family Band (also returning from last year – bluegrass and traditional music, the sweetest harmonies in town)
