Jake Diekman Kicks Off Baseball Season with New "Gut It Out" Design for Charity
Dallas, TX, April 07, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Texas Rangers relief pitcher Jake Diekman is kicking off the 2016 baseball season with the release of a brand new t-shirt design in his “Gut It Out” campaign with Athletes Brand. The new Gut It Out shirt will only be available at AthletesBrand.com/Jake from April 4 - April 18, with proceeds benefiting Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
Entering his fifth season in the major leagues, Diekman teamed up with Athletes Brand in 2015 to co-design a shirt reflecting a phrase that has provided him with hope and inspiration through his 19-year journey with ulcerative colitis. His first shirt design raised more than $10,000 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) and connected him with hundreds of patients and their families through events across the country.
“When I came up with the idea for this shirt with Athletes Brand, I had no idea how many people would come forward saying they had Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. The outpouring of support has been incredible,” said Diekman. “I look forward to continuing to meet patients and connect with them through this campaign. They are my inspiration to continue working to raise awareness of the debilitating and devastating nature of these digestive diseases.”
Known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affects more than 1.6 million Americans. They are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system and cause debilitating pain, weight loss, urgency, inflammation, and much more.
“Jake’s passion for helping people, especially the kids, that have IBD is contagious,” said Athletes Brand Founder and CEO, Kyle Mauch. “He’s brought awareness to millions of people over the past year with the Gut it Out campaign and we hope to reach millions more this year with the new shirt. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to be a part of the amazing things that he’s doing for CCFA and the IBD community.”
Athletes Brand will track campaign participation through shares of the link where the Gut It Out shirts are sold. Athletes from various professional sports within the Athletes Brand network will also support Jake by promoting the campaign on social media.
