TMG Consulting Partners with Northern California Power Agency to Provide Procurement Services for Several of its Member Utilities
Austin, TX, April 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- TMG Consulting announced today that it has entered into a partnership with the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA) to provide advisory, procurement and implementation services for several of its member utilities pursuing smart grid initiatives. Prior to delivering procurement services, TMG hosted education workshops on customer information (CIS) and meter data management (MDM) systems, that included data from TMG’s research and innovation practice, RIMSolutions™, and lessons learned from TMG’s advisory, TPAServices™, and client-side delivery, CSDSupport™, practices.
The NCPA is a not-for-profit Joint Powers Agency, whose members include the cities of Alameda, Biggs, Gridley, Healdsburg, Lodi, Lompoc, Palo Alto, Redding, Roseville, Santa Clara, and Ukiah, as well as the Bay Area Rapid Transit District, Port of Oakland, the Truckee Donner Public Utility District, and the Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative. The agency invited members of the Southern California Public Power Authority, a joint action agency representing Southern California public power systems, to attend as well.
“NCPA members are taking an intelligent and pragmatic approach to their smart grid initiatives recognizing that the deployment of smart meters in the field must be supported by a robust technical platform in the data center, business transformation in the front and back office and transparent communication with their customers,” said Tim Almond, TMG’s executive sponsor for the project. “By packaging our services for them, NCPA is able to leverage TMG’s expertise on behalf of their members giving the level of support they need.”
According to Bob Caracristi, manager of information services and power settlements for NCPA, “The engagement got off to a very strong start with the educational workshops. I heard nothing but highly positive comments from the workshop participants, which was evident in the healthy level of discussion and dialogue that took place in each workshop setting.” TMG Consulting was among a number of consulting organizations that responded to a NCPA Request for Proposal for Smart Grid consulting services on behalf of participating NCPA members. Caracristi indicated that TMG was unanimously selected by an ad hoc NCPA cross-member committee based on TMG’s breadth and depth of both technical and business knowledge and experience with respect to the successful implementation and integration of CIS and MDM solutions.
