Powers Insurance and Benefits Celebrates 25th Anniversary

St. Louis, MO, April 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- POWERS Insurance and Benefits, one of the largest family owned and operated independent insurance agencies in the bi-state region, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary in business. The company provides personal and business insurance, surety, risk management and employee benefits. POWERS Insurance and Benefits employs 20 and has been located at 7745 Carondelet Ave. for nearly 25 years.

The company was founded in 1991 by CEO Pierce Powers. Three of his six children significantly contribute to the success of their firm. JD Powers serves as President, Elizabeth Powers is Director of Agency Development, and Henry Powers is Director of Business Development.

Pierce attributes the genesis of the firm to the idea initiated by his physician father to “find a business through which you can give more than you take and that you may perpetuate if you are blessed with capable and interested children.”

In 2006, Pierce and his family established Valley Insurance Agency Alliance (VIAA) as the regional member in Missouri and Southern Illinois for Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA), a $6 billion national insurance coalition. Their partnership group consists of a cohesive family of nearly 100 independent insurance agencies. The alliance generates more than $125 million in written premium.
