Marion, AR, January 08, 2008 --(PR.com)-- African American author, Jennifer L. Ray, has completed her second novel, which focuses on how to accept the love of a strong black man and overcome family scandals by way of honesty, confession, and acceptance.

Mrs. Ray put her heart and soul into this 182-page novel entitled, "Who Shook the Family Tree." The novel reads like a chapter out of the life of any woman of color and is hopeful, encouraging and spiritual.

An avid reader once said, "If it is not psychologically enlightening or emotionally uplifting, it is not worth reading." That avid reader is none other than Jennifer L. Ray herself. This novel delivers on both counts.

"Who Shook the Family Tree" begins with a very intriguing introduction. Fola Jennings is in disguise so as to meet the requirements set out in Kenan Mavis' newspaper ad for a nanny position. After her disguise falls apart, Kenan hires her anyway. His initial plan is to protect her from her stepfather. Fola's impulsiveness is endearing to Kenan even though she constantly places both him and herself in embarrassing and compromising situations. Their mutual attraction is unavoidable. Their romantic journey becomes entangled with a family-tree shaking that is hilarious at times and down right surprising at other times.

"Who Shook the Family Tree" reads like the taste of smooth, creamy, chocolate. It will leave a smile on readers' faces and a hankering for more Jennifer L. Ray novels. This novel can be purchased or downloaded from Lulu.com.
