You Did It! Productions Teams with Mona Vista Productions to Co-Produce Film About the Plight of U.S. War Veterans
Los Angeles, CA, April 20, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Independent production company You Did It! Productions (“YDIP”) has joined forces with Mona Vista Productions, to co-produce the film Will Gardner. Max Martini and Michael Hagerty of Mona Vista will be joining Lee Ettinger, Devin Cutler, and Stewart Hall (“Monster”, “Upside of Anger”) of YDIP as producers of the film. Tony Mark (“The Hurt Locker”, “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”) is also producing.
Will Gardner., written by Max Martini, is the story of an Iraq war veteran who takes a spirited motorcycle trip across America, picking up pieces of his life lost since combat.
John Dahl (“Rounders”) is attached to direct the film, and two-time Academy Award nominee Dante Spinotti (“Heat”, “L.A. Confidential”, “X-Men: The Last Stand”) is attached as cinematographer. Mary Vernieu (“Star Wars: Episode VIII”, “Suicide Squad”) is executive producing and casting the film.
Max Martini (“Saving Private Ryan”, “Pacific Rim”, “Fifty Shades of Grey” “Captain Phillips”, and the just-released “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”) is starring in the title role of the film. Mr. Martini has a lead role in the film “Spectral”, to be released by Legendary/Universal this year and has a leading role in the upcoming “Pacific Rim: Maelstrom”, to be produced by Guillermo del Toro for Legendary/Universal.
“I am very excited to work with Max Martini and Dante Spinotti,” said John Dahl, “to bring a heartfelt story of our nation’s unsung heroes to the screen.”
“Not all military casualties of war end up in hospitals or national cemeteries,” said Max Martini. “Some never make it back. Others make it back but never make it home. I want to bring those vets home."
“We are not only excited, but honored to be working with such great talent as Max Martini, John Dahl, Dante Spinotti, and Mary Vernieu on this incredible and important film,” said Lee Ettinger. “As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, I know firsthand how important it is to shine a light on the plight of veterans who have returned home from conflict overseas.”
