The Murphy Foundation to Hold Wine Dinners to Benefit Muscular Dystrophy
Murphy Distributors wants to raise the awareness of Muscular Dystrophy throughout Connecticut.
New Haven, CT, April 27, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Muscular Dystrophies (MD) are a group of more than 30 genetic diseases characterized by progressive weakness and degeneration of the skeletal muscles that control movement. Some forms of MD are seen in infancy or childhood, while others may not appear until middle age or later. Muscular dystrophies are not usually recognized until signs of the disease are present. This can take families by surprise who were not prepared for the disease. Tests to recognize this disease when a child is born are available and can not only help families prepare, but also proved essential information to the scientific community to help solve this terrible disease. Murphy wants to raise the awareness of Muscular Dystrophy throughout Connecticut.
Murphy Distributors' strong commitment to the community has been recognized since its founding in 2008. This year Murphy Distributors, in conjunction with The Murphy Foundation, will set up and hold wine dinners throughout the state to help raise money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy.
Each day, they strive to earn, build and maintain a positive relationship of trust in the community, creating a tradition of caring.
"We will begin our Wine Dinner kick-off in the summer and plan on hosting 10 events before the end of the year to benefit those in the state afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy. Watch for further information and check our website for times and locations near you. We are excited to be formulating events where good food, good wine and very good intentions come together for the greater good," added Murphy.
If anyone is interested in helping, hosting or organizing an event, please contact Matthew Murphy.
Murphy prides itself on being a conscientious corporation, and has an admirable record of involvement and assistance with local charitable organizations. Involvement with Special Olympics and Branford Tip-a-Cop are yearly commitments. The company donates annually to over 100 charities through tastings and direct donations.
