Katalyst Enhances the iGlass Solution with ProjectDataStor for Interpretation Data
Oil and gas service company expands seismic data management solution to support interpretation project data archives.
Houston, TX, April 29, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Katalyst Data Management is pleased to announce that they have expanded their subsurface data management service to include interpretation project data management for the oil and gas industry. This announcement marks another step in the company’s evolution beyond traditional seismic data management, which they have been managing for exploration and production companies for over thirty years. Katalyst is excited to now have the expertise and technology to fully support interpretation project archives within their end-to-end hosted data management solution.
The seismic and interpretation project modules all reside within iGlass, a web-based ESRI map interface built on PPDM 3.8 and Katalyst’s signature solution for managing geoscience data. iGlass is now capable of handling the complexities of managing interpretation project archives, and all of the associated metadata that geoscientists often are unable to access with traditional storage methods. The new interpretation module within iGlass will be branded ProjectDataStor.
"We could not be more pleased to be able to meet the demands of our clients and the industry at large to provide a more complete data management solution… one that encompasses the multiple domains that our clients have to work with on a daily basis," said President and CEO Steve Darnell. "iGlass is built around the needs of geoscientists and one of those major needs is to access their interpretation projects as quickly and easily as they’re able to access seismic data. I am proud to say that ProjectDataStor can now meet those needs, with the same standards of quality and service that we’ve been able to achieve with our seismic data clients."
Katalyst will feature iGlass and their new ProjectDataStor module at the PNEC Data Management Conference in Houston on May 17-19 and EAGE in Vienna on May 30 – June 2. In addition to iGlass, geoscientists have the option to market their proprietary data to other industry users on SeismicZone.com, Katalyst’s online data marketplace for geoscience buyers and sellers.
