Centric Projects to deliver energy and excitement to the Kansas City Streetcar Grand Opening weekend by hosting nationally acclaimed Performance Painter Mike Debus. Debus will perform live and create five paintings at the Centric Project headquarters on Saturday May 7th from 11 AM to 2 PM. The company will bring energy and excitement to the Crossroads District by hosting nationally acclaimed Performance Painter Mike Debus. Debus will perform and paint five paintings at their Centric Project headquarters on Saturday May 7th from 11 AM to 2 PM. Winsome Way Media, in conjuntion with Centric Projects expect thousands to attend the community historic event.
Centric Project executive Richard Wetzel commented that their firm wanted to be a key part of the festivities this weekend and is excited to be hosting Debus. Centric Projects, an active participant in all Crossroads District activities, lies directly on the KC Street Car route at 1814 Main. Debus will perform and paint outside for the thousands expected along the route on Saturday.
Debus is nationally recognized live entertainer, with his brushes creating the excitement, as audiences watch an image unfold. The Kansas City native has painted in Austria and Korea in recent years, and has become a partner with various regional and national charities. He is known throughout the United States as a fundraising champion for colleges, athletic departments, churches and non-profits. His paintings have sold for up to $25,000 at live auctions, immediately after painting the image live. He regularly paints at music concerts, community and sporting events.
Debus will paint five paintings including a Kansas City Royals player, a Sporting KC player, the KC skyline and two KC Street Car images, all live and in front of the Centric Projects offices. Each canvas is normally completed with twenty minutes. "We believe in community service and being involved always, and this day will be special for Kansas City" added Courtney Kounkel, whose community involvement for Centric Projects has garnered her a "40 Under 40" award as well as a "Women Who Mean Business" in the Kansas City area.
To add to the festivities, Centric Projects will bring the 'Crave Of KC Truck', a food truck which offering gourmet food and elite street vendor quality service.
