The 3rd-annual Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo is a 3-day convention devoted to all types of gaming. This fan convention is held June 10-12, 2016 at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta, GA, and boasts over 250 full-sized arcade games, pinball machines and console systems, along with tabletop gaming, vendors, special guest speakers, movie screenings, tournaments and more. Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo is a family-friendly event that will be fun for all ages.
Atlanta, GA, May 09, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Player One, LLC is pleased to announced the return of what will be the 3rd-annual Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo (SFGE) in Atlanta this June 10-12, 2016. SFGE is Atlanta’s homegrown convention focused on new and retro gaming. With an expected attendance exceeding 3,000 people, SFGE has become the must-attend event in the Southeast for fans of arcade games, pinball machines, video game consoles, and now, tabletop gaming. With more special guests, more live music, and the addition of tabletop gaming, this weekend filled with non-stop gaming is bigger and better than ever.
The Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo is the perfect place for fans of gaming and pop culture to meet up, celebrate, and play the 250+ games in the free-play arcade, roll the dice with friends in the additional 14,000 square feet devoted to the GeekDad tabletop boardgame experience, meet legendary game designers and competitors, watch exclusive movie screenings, browse the vendor exhibits, and compete in tournaments galore. Special Guest Celebrities
Whether you’re a fan of game designers, artists, podcasters, or film legends, SFGE has you covered. This year, SFGE is pleased to welcome the star of the pinnacle ‘80s gaming sci-fi film, The Last Starfigher, Lance Guest. Fans of the popular games Apples to Apples and Munchkin will no doubt love to meet the artistic talent behind those hugely successful games, John Kovilic. Additionally, for fans of coin-op games, SFGE welcomes Bill Adams, the co-creator of the classic arcade hits Tron and Spy Hunter (among others) and Charlie Emery and Jack Guarnieri, respective owners of Spooky Pinball and Jersey Jack Pinball, who have taken the resurging pinball industry by storm.
Tournaments
While casual gamers will feel at ease throughout the weekend, the competitive gamer will also feel right at home. The event will continue to host the PAPA (Professional & Amateur Pinball Association) Circuit Tournament as a precursor to the pinball world championships. There will be countless opportunities for guest to “play & win” numerous board games donated from top companies like Stonemaier Games, Renegade Game Studios, and more. Plus, countless video game tournaments for prizes are open to all ages throughout the weekend.
Live Performances
This year, SFGE is rounding out the event with more live performances and fun events. In addition the return of ‘80s cover band The B Team, geek-inspired musicians D&D Sluggers and Snoot will take the stage to rock Atlanta. SFGE will host the Atlanta Wrestling Entertainment for some live, high-flying thrills during a full wrestling show Friday evening.
