Metropolitan International Fashion Week Miami Concludes “A Night of Fashion”
Celebrities, fashion buyers, and industry elite celebrate the return of Metropolitan International Fashion Week Miami, a Miami based event with a vast array of runway trends and live performances.
Miami, FL, May 13, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Saturday, April 30th, 2016, Metropolitan International Fashion Week Miami (MMIFW) officially concluded their main event “A Night of Fashion.”
The long-awaited event took place at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. Fashion designers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the United States, and Uzbekistan featured their latest collections of men and women’s daywear, swimwear, and women’s evening wear.
“A Night of Fashion” opened with “Sandbar Collection” (women’s swimwear) designed by Peruvian transplant Ana Araujo, followed by “Kimii LOO” (women’s daywear) by Argentine designer Lorena Avalos whose collection is defined by her interchangeable accessories and use of leather and suede. Brazilian women’s swimwear designer Loren Prado showed her latest collection “MOHIT Swimwear”; New York fashion designer Vanessa De La Torre showed women and men’s street wear for her collection “Catwalk Generation,” which featured structured and sophisticated pieces.
U.S. men’s swimwear designer CJ Golden, originally from Germany, showed his new “Just Call Me a Spaceman” collection featuring bold metallic fabric, galactic prints and sheer mesh. He was followed by equally edgy designer Susan Panter with her collection “Evelli by Susan Panter” (women’s daywear).
Canadian designer Suhaila Niazi showed the softer side of fashion with her line “Al Shakour,” featuring jewel-tone silk kaftans, women’s swimwear and linen resort wear for men. Elena Milberger, a womenswear designer from Uzbekistan who is known for her use of the batik technique, showed her self-titled collection of vibrant, hand-painted women’s silk dresses, followed by Argentine designers Lucia Beramendi and Priscila Tartaglia with “OMAGUA” (women’s swimwear and active wear). Rosaura Sias-Pipenburg closed the show with her collection “RSP Fashion” (women’s evening wear).
The evening was hosted by MMIFW co-founder and director Maxine Viktor, Brazilian plus size model and TV personality Karina Moutran, and Ms. Latina International CEO Angela Posillico, who presented Viktor with an award for her outstanding contributions to the community. Guests enjoyed musical performances by rising talent Summer Wright and CJ Fam. Music producer Tony Choy DJ’ed the runway shows.
Celebrity guests in attendance included telenovela actress and model Alexandra Pomales, international Latin music artist Daniel Pena, Con Estilo TV/Telemundo 43 TV personality Silvana Camarago and award-winning musician Tito Puente Jr.
