UK Company Enters the Mobile Game Market
Sports Digital Entertainment (SDE) Group, a start-up formed earlier this year in the United Kingdom, announced its first mobile app educational game, BallersLife.
New York, NY, May 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- LSports Digital Entertainment (SDE) Group, a start-up formed earlier this year in the United Kingdom, announced its first mobile app educational game, BallersLife. The company will partner with a Barcelona technology development company which will help bring the mobile game to life.
Angel Girón, Jr., a veteran of 17 years with the New York City Department of Education, shared a vision with Mark Lugo, his close friend since the age of 15. Together, the team wanted to create a different type of mobile gaming company. Lugo, a well-seasoned marketing and promotions consultant and Girón set out to create a company that will design, develop and market educational role-play games for smartphones with a twist.
The team quickly was reaching out to sports celebrities for strategic partnerships and tie-ins with SDE’s first mobile game. BallersLife, a role-play game which allows users to manage money as a fictional or non-fictional sports celebrity. The mobile game targets sports fans and others interested in celebrities with a high net worth. “Society is becoming more and more obsessed with the lives of the rich and famous,” said Girón, co-creator and co-founder. “SDE wraps that into a game that will ultimately teach the users the pitfalls of poor money management as well as the rewards of good business moves,” continued Girón.
“The funniest thing was many sports celebrities were interested more in playing the game than being a part of the game,” said Lugo, co-founder and president of SDE. “Most of the sports celebrities we spoke with understand that mobile games rarely teach anything useful. SDE’s games will not only entertain and engage the users, but also educate them. That is what will make us (SDE) different,” He added.
