Limited Release Samuel Adams Rebel Raw Double IPA on Shelves in the Triangle
Mims Distributing Company One of Select Group of Distributors to Bring Rebel Raw to Consumers
Raleigh, NC, May 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- The brewers at Sam Adams just brewed and canned the second batch of Rebel Raw Double IPA and Mims Distributing Company, a leading wholesale beverage distributor in North Carolina, has announced that it is now on shelves in the Triangle. This is the first time that beer lovers in Raleigh, Durham and surrounding areas will be able to get their hands on Rebel Raw Double IPA, the hoppiest beer brewed by Sam Adams.
About Rebel Raw:
At 10% ABV and 100 IBUs, Rebel Raw is brewed with seven pounds of hops per barrel to create a powerful hoppy character; this beer is bursting with citrus, floral, spice and resinous pine notes. Because it is such an aggressively hop-forward brew, freshness is critical. Hop character diminishes over time, which is why Rebel Raw has a shelf life of only 35 days – the shortest shelf life to date of any Sam Adams beer. To preserve freshness, it is packaged and shipped the same day to wholesalers. As a result, beer lovers will be able to enjoy Rebel Raw within days after it leaves Samuel Adams Brewery. This is not a beer to be stored in the beer fridge for later or aged; drinkers should enjoy it now.
Where to find Rebel Raw:
Available for a limited time in a four pack of 16-oz. cans, Rebel Raw retails for $12.99 to $13.99 and can be found at local bottle shops and select craft beer bars.
Rebel Raw Double IPA will also be on shelves in: Denver, CO; Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Long Island & NYC, NY; Cincinnati & Cleveland, OH; Pittsburg & Philly, PA; RI and in MA.
A list of where you can find Rebel Raw will be available at http://blog.samueladams.com/.
Sam Adams Brewer Seth Adams on Rebel Raw:
“Imagine burying your nose in a pile of fresh hop cones – that’s what you’ll experience when you drink Rebel Raw,” said Seth Adams, brewer at Samuel Adams. “If you find it, enjoy it as soon as possible! Hops lose their flavor and aromatic character over time, and we want IPA fans to really experience the wide range of hop flavors and aromas found in Rebel Raw.”
CEO of Mims Distributing Company Chip Mims on Rebel Raw:
“We’re excited to bring this new beer to the Triangle,” said Chip Mims, CEO of Mims Distributing Company. “It’s a huge testament to the beer culture in this region that Samuel Adams would select this market as one of only a handful of places where hop heads will be able to enjoy Rebel Raw.”

About The Boston Beer Company:
The Boston Beer Company began in 1984 with a generations-old family recipe that Founder and Brewer Jim Koch uncovered in his father’s attic. Inspired and unafraid to challenge conventional thinking about beer, Jim brought the recipe to life in his kitchen. Pleased with the results of his work, Jim decided to sample his beer with bars in Boston in the hopes that drinkers would appreciate the complex, full-flavored beer he brewed fresh in America. That beer was aptly named Samuel Adams Boston Lager, in recognition of one of our nation's great founding fathers, a man of independent mind and spirit. Little did Jim know at the time, Samuel Adams Boston Lager would soon become a catalyst of the American craft beer revolution.
Today, The Boston Beer Company brews more than 60 styles of beer. It relentlessly pursues the development of new styles and the perfection of classic beers by searching the world for the finest ingredients. Using the traditional four vessel brewing process, the Company often takes extra steps like dry-hopping, barrel-aging and a secondary fermentation known as krausening. The Company has also pioneered another revolution, the 'extreme beer' movement, where it seeks to challenge drinker's perceptions of what beer can be. The Boston Beer Company has been committed to elevating the image of American craft beer by entering festivals and competitions around the globe, and is one of world’s most awarded breweries at international beer competitions. As an independent company, brewing quality beer remains its primary focus. Although Samuel Adams beer is America's leading craft beer, it accounts for only one percent of the U.S. beer market. The Boston Beer Company will continue its independently-minded quest to brew great beer and to advocate for the growth of craft beer across America.
