First Service Credit Union is hosting a Social Security seminar for those whose first language is Spanish. The seminar will be held May 24 at the Gulf Freeway branch in South Houston.
Houston, TX, May 18, 2016 --(PR.com)-- First Service Credit Union through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. will conduct a special informational seminar on the topic of Social Security to those whose first language is Spanish. The seminar will be held May 24 at the Gulf Freeway branch in South Houston.
The hour-long seminar starts at 6:30 p.m. at the branch, located at 8980 Clearwood Street, just west of the Gulf Freeway. It is designed to introduce the audience to key strategies that can enhance the benefits that Social Security provides.
The seminar will explain the basics of Social Security and Medicare and discuss strategies such as when to start receiving benefits, working during retirement, tax implications, and more. It will be conducted by Rafael Balderrabano, a financial services advisor in the investment Services Department at First Service Credit Union.
Mr. Balderrabano has worked in financial services in Houston since 2007. He currently holds his Series 6,7,63 and 66 securities licenses as well as a degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology.

“We don’t know of any other local financial institutions that have offered a seminar like this, with quality information and valuable insight, to the Hispanic community in the language they are most comfortable with,” said Dave Bleazard, President of First Service Credit Union.
“It’s a challenge to understand Social Security even when English is your primary language. We saw a need, and a real opportunity, to help older Hispanics find out what they need to do to take full advantage of this benefit as they near retirement.”
The Gulf Freeway branch is one of 10 that First Service operates throughout the Houston metropolitan area.
