Getzner to Launch New Floor Blocks at AIA Convention
IIC & STC Tested, Versatile & Internationally Proven
Charlotte, NC, May 19, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Getzner, the leader in vibration mitigation materials for construction, industrial and railway applications, is introducing Getzner Floor Blocks at the AIA Convention May 19-21 in Philadelphia, Pa., at booth 605. Designed to isolate architectural floor systems from structures to reduce the transfer of noise and vibrations from one environment (room) to another, Getzner Floor Blocks are most effective when integrated at the planning stage. The new product joins Getzner’s line of polyurethane vibration mitigation materials that it has been developing and producing for the past 45 years. The company will also be showcasing its Granulated Construction Mat and equipment vibration mitigation materials.
Getzner Floor Blocks – Adaptable & Unchanging
Getzner Floor Blocks are simple to install, easily incorporated into a variety of floor constructions, and retain performance for the lifetime of the floor system. The versatility of the Floor Blocks applies to the installation and usage. As homogenous blocks, each can be arranged regardless of direction and orientation. The blocks’ structural composition allows compatibility with wood or concrete construction, and locally available materials. The two-inch high blocks enable utilities such as electrical cables, water lines, etc. to run between the spaces.
Even after 30 years, the material of which Getzner Floor Blocks is comprised retains performance, as is evident by this case study (https://www.getzner.com/en/case-studies/bearing-of-the-ships-hull-on-the-m-y-excellence-superyacht) of the superyacht, M.Y. Excellence that was restored by a design and construction company in the Philippines. The material characteristics – and thickness – in terms of static or dynamic durability remain virtually unchanged over time. Additionally, the Floor Blocks are capable of minimizing disturbances across multiple frequencies and exhibit a stable temperature response with very little deflection and limited creep. As such, the blocks are applicable to a range of environments and applications.
Getzner Granulated Construction Mat – Thin & Powerful Protection
Getzner’s Granulated Construction Mat is a highly effective and low-cost solution for reducing impact noise in buildings. In fact, it satisfies the most stringent requirements with regard to impact noise protection.
A very high proportion of the material is made from recycled polyurethane, which is resistant to chemicals, hydrolysis, aging and rotting. Available in a convenient size and lightweight, it is easy to use and install as installation doesn’t require technical equipment or bonding to a subsurface.
Its low-installed height, at less than .5-inch thick, and high load-bearing capacity means building plans and designs may remain intact without the need to modify due to constraints of material properties.
Getzner’s Sylomer® & Sylodyn® – Equipment Vibration Mitigation
A demonstration of Getzner materials’ ability to mitigate vibration will be ongoing at the booth. By reducing vibrations, a mechanical system is quieter and yields longer service life of the machines and equipment, as well as the surrounding area. Elastically mounted heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment is more cost-effective and efficient in the long term. Given their long-lasting, stable properties, Getzner’s Sylomer® and Sylodyn® are ideal materials for reducing vibrations caused by this type of equipment. Solutions that are added later are often more expensive in comparison, which is why it is recommended to consider elastic mounting at the planning stage. Application examples include the following:
· Air conditioning (AC) systems
· Combined heat and power plants (CHP plants)
· Refrigerating machines
· Cooling towers
· Fans
· Heat pumps

About Getzner
Getzner USA, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., is a subsidiary of Getzner Werkstoffe, which is located in Austria. The expert in manufacturing elastic solutions for various applications in the railway, construction, industrial and acoustic business, Getzner has 45 years of experience designing polyurethanes to last and perform at the highest level. Getzner’s material has versatility in usage as it could serve as a vibration mitigation material, an elastic component to improve the service life of bedded components and minimize the need for maintenance and repairs on tracks, vehicles, structures and machines, or as a functional component such as a gasket. The material is available in two cellular polyurethane versions in multiple densities – Sylomer (open cell) and Sylodyn (closed cell), as well as in a high damping version – Sylomer HD. By reducing noise and vibrations, Getzner is making a valuable contribution towards enhancing the quality of individuals’ living and working conditions.
