She gets pregnant while the two are in high school, and 17-year-old Jimmy agrees to do the right thing and support her. Dropping out of high school and getting his GED isn’t easy, but that’s a picnic compared to Army boot camp and serving in a combat zone in Iraq. Sheer courage and quick thinking lead to heroic actions but eventually he’s taken prisoner. Jimmy makes it home and eventually finds a job at a bank, but when that doesn’t work out, he turns to a war-time buddy, now a police officer, working on a murder case.
