MODE++ Fashion Tech Startup is Kickstarting MEMENTO a 3D printed, customizable video jewelry playing your videos

MEMENTO is the world’s first 3D printed, fully customizable video jewelry piece. Users no longer need to carry a family photo in their wallet, they can
wear favorite family moments or wear any video on the MEMENTO video fashion accessory to display personal branding, mood, or style. It can be used to accessorize an outfit, augment a personal mood, or convey a message. With
the investment in this this fashion accessory, one invests in a content
delivery platform.
Fashion Technologist Margarita Benitez and designer Markus Vogl,
wanted to create a piece of jewelry that could play custom video content.
They have collaborated since the year 2000 on various design and art projects.
The screen and hardware is housed in a 3D printed nylon case (available in 9 colors). The cases are manufactured on demand via 3D printing. Cases are interchangeable and more case designs will be developed in the future. The hardware used remains the same and is configured to fit all of the current and future case designs.
The electronics are powered by the TinyCircuits TinyDuino Platform and the MEMENTO is fitted with a TinyScreen+. This open source hardware is locally produced in NE Ohio.
MEMENTO ships with several preloaded videos. Loading custom videos onto the device is easy to do. First videos must be converted to the proper format. This is facilitated via an online conversion website. The converted video is then transferred to the included microSD card and will automatically play once the MEMENTO is started. The screen size is 96x64px, a 3:2 video ratio.
The battery life is about 4hrs, enough for a night out.
