Jeff Anderson Senior Analytics Architect and Solution Strategist at Vertex presented the topic “Complex Event Analytics: Increasing Output, Reducing Waste, Optimizing Processes, and Driving Increased Revenue.” The presentation was based on a recent implementation of Complex Event Analytics for a major US based Steel Manufacturer. The foundation of Complex Event Analytics lies in the combination of a process-wide product (or process) view, combined with proven Data Science methods to tease out and deliver data-driven manufacturing operations improvements and automations.
The Key Highlights of the Presentation:
· Incorporating Advanced Analytics in a Big Data manufacturing process environment, through the invention and application of a new data-driven approach called Complex Event Analytics.
· The specific example presented showcased how CEA helped a large steel manufacturer to increase total product quality through QA optimizations and the reduction of faulty product.
· CEA approach extends beyond metals manufacturing and is applicable to nearly all manufacturing processes and industries.
