Obermeyer will moderate a three-person panel on entrepreneurship in the Triad that will feature Patrick Kammer, CEO of C Change Surgical; Robert Anderson, president and CEO of GreatWall Systems; and Troy Knauss, fund executive of the Piedmont Angel Network (PAN).
Obermeyer joined PTEN in December 2004 as Vice President of Programs and was named interim CEO in February 2006 and then president in August 2006. In addition to assisting early-stage and growth-minded entrepreneurs find resources to grow their companies successfully, Obermeyer serves as an entrepreneurial advisor to area business providers, business incubators and the Piedmont Triad Partnership’s WIRED initiative. Kammer has spent the last 16 years with Fortune 500, private and start-up medical device companies in sales and marketing management, clinical education, product development and operations. His experience includes: co-managing a US cardiac surgery device sales and service group; conducting national and international advanced medical device product & procedure training for thousands of surgeons and nurses; conducting advanced clinical and product training for US and international sales people; sales and marketing strategy and planning, product development; group purchasing organization contract negotiation; customer service CQI; and logistics task force management.
Since March 2007, Anderson has led GreatWall Systems, an innovative cybersecurity software company that was spun out of Wake Forest University. He attended Wake Forest’s Babcock Graduate School of Management from 1992-1994.
As fund executive for PAN, a committed capital angel fund with $10 million under management and located in Greensboro, Knauss has more than 14 years of experience in family and start-up businesses. His current involvement with PAN focuses on angel investments in high-growth, high-technology seed and early-stage firms with deal sizes between $500,000 and $2.5 million. In addition to the fund activities, Troy is an entrepreneur and an active angel investor in emerging technologies.
