IAOP Launches Real Estate & Facilities Management Chapter
Virtual Chapter to Hold Inaugural Webinar June 14
Windermere, FL, June 02, 2016 --(PR.com)-- IAOP® announced today the launch of its Real Estate & Facilities Management chapter. This virtual chapter will be chaired by representatives from Colliers, Deloitte Consulting LLP, EY, ISS, JLL and P&G. The inaugural webinar meeting will take place June 14, 2016.
This latest IAOP chapter will promote the outsourcing profession through knowledge sharing, education, networking and insightful discussion in benefit of the overall outsourcing ecosystem.
Managing Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Risk in Real Estate and Facilities Management (RE and FM) Transactions will be the meeting focus and industry leaders from Mayer Brown will present on why this has become a top issue at the highest levels of companies in RE and FM organizations.
“The prevalence of new technologies, evolving business models and workforce changes are providing new opportunities for RE and FM corporate functions and service providers to collaborate,” said Leo Bello, Manager, Business Model Transformation, Strategy and Operations, Deloitte Consulting LLP; and the new IAOP Chapter Lead Co-Chair. “Under the umbrella of IAOP’s leadership, this chapter brings together corporate end users, service providers, advisors and academia to help leverage these opportunities in a rapidly-changing marketplace. The focus will be on delivering enhanced value.”
RE and FM organizations have seen an increase in the data that is collected, in the level of interconnection between companies and providers, and in regulation related to such data. One out of five companies is expected to suffer a data breach over the next two years and the potential resulting direct and indirect costs are large and growing every year. Mayer Brown will also discuss how the legal landscape is changing and what recommendations they would make to mitigate and manage this risk through the various phases of contracting.
“As a uniquely member-driven association, the success of our chapters depends on the active support of many, many organizations,” said IAOP CEO, Debi Hamill. “We’re thankful for the hard work of everyone involved in bringing the Real Estate & Facilities Management chapter to life. We look forward to this opportunity to further serve all of our members with this global chapter.”
The RE and FM Chapter will provide customers, providers, advisors and academics in the industry an opportunity to share best practices and collaboratively improve each of their organization’s results.
“Collaboration is the foundation of every innovation,” said Bryan Jacobs, International Director of JLL. “This chapter will bring together some of the brightest minds within IAOP to collectively tackle and improve upon some of the complex challenges faced in real estate and facilities management partnering today.”
The inaugural webinar meeting, taking place on June 14, 2016, from 11:00am to Noon EDT, is open to IAOP Professional Members. It will give a brief introduction of the chapter, review the chapter charter and governance team, and hold a discussion of potential future chapter meeting topics. Register for the meeting here.
