In celebration of the ninth annual Joy of Giving Week (JOG Week), Buy1GIVE1 Pte Ltd. is hosting a virtual fund-race. Unlike races that require participants to run a fixed distance and report their times, JOG Week challenges participants to compete by taking as many steps as possible starting June 20, 2016, raising funds for high-impact philanthropic projects along the way.
In some parts of the world, it’s common for people to travel two hours by foot each and every day just to provide life-saving water for their families.
Through Buy1GIVE1, supporters are able to provide access to clean water for these communities from a little as one cent per day. And for this year’s JOG Week, participants aren’t just opening their pocketbooks, but are lending a hand (and their feet) to support this cause and so many life-changing projects around the world.
Every year, Buy1GIVE1 celebrates its birthday by sharing the joy of giving with the global community. And this year, Buy1GIVE1 is taking JOGWeek literally: asking participants from all over the world to run, walk, or jog for the project of their choosing.
After participants select the Buy1GIVE1 philanthropic project they’d like to support, they will log as many steps as possible from June 20-26, encouraging their friends and family to sponsor their steps and give to their selected philanthropic project accordingly. There will also be daily challenges and opportunities to win additional steps.
JOGgers will be featured on a live, dynamic leaderboard showcasing their steps and corresponding philanthropic project impact. The winners of various categories will receive matching contributions towards their selected projects.
